The Unpopular Truth.

The Unpopular Truth.

Stop following and trying to emulate professional athletes. Your goals shouldn’t be “them”. One of the things I despise seeing on social media is that damn hashtag #goals 😑

You want to look like a professional bodybuilder? Do you have ANY idea how much sacrifice, mental, emotional, social, and physical that requires? Probably not.

You want to have the body of your favourite #Crossfit athlete? Well, they train 3x a day, live, eat, sleep, breathe what they do, and spend more time in the gym eating out of tupperware than they do anything else. Any spare time is usually spent sleeping. I cannot even count the number of times I’ve had clients say “I want to look like <insert amazingly shredded athlete>”

Well, I can tell you some of those athletes would look like that eating raman noodles and doing zumba. And I can also tell you some of those athletes are not natural, nor have been for a very long time.

We all want to look a certain way - thats human nature, to compare and want what you don’t have. Without a shred of doubt, comparison is the thief of joy. So stop doing it.

Its nauseatingly cliched to say “you are your own competition” - but not only is it true, it sets you up for life of improvement. Look back at yourself 1 year, 5 years, 10 years ago. If you want to get back to that - do it. If you are happy where you are at, GOOD. If you want more, to be a better version of yourself….

DO IT.
